Advertising Strategies and Techniques

Introduction

             The commercial I chose is a State Farm Insurance commercial. This commercial uses emotional appeal and Bandwagon. Emotional appeal means that it uses your emotions to get you to do something. Bandwagon is when they show that many people use the product and it is really cool. That creates peer pressure and that makes you want to buy the product. This specific commercial uses emotional appeal by making it so the people look so relaxed and happy with State Farm like theres no worry in the world. This commercial uses bandwagon by showing that State Farm is really popular and it can get you anything you want. The people snap their fingers and say the State Farm jingle and whatever they want pops out of no where.




This commercial uses emotional appeal and bandwagon. This uses emotional appeal by showing that the three boys are happy and relaxed with State Farm. They use bandwagon by showing that State Farm is popular and that the boys can get whatever they want just by singing the catchy State Farm jingle.

My Opinion

             I like the commercial because it is really funny and interesting. This is emotional appeal its a funny commercial and funny is usually a key part of a good commercial. The jingle is catchy its one of those things that gets stuck in your head. The strategies that make me want to buy the insurance is it  makes me think that if I get State Farm I can get whatever I want, then that gets me wondering what would I get. That technique is bandwagon. They are showing that with State Farm you can get whatever you want. The target audience might be children and adults. It could be children because children are the people who would actually believe they could get whatever they want then they will tell their parents to buy the insurance. That means the kids would be tempted by the bandwagon appeal. The audience could also be adults because they might want to be relaxed and happy like the people in the video. That means the parents are being tempted by emotional appeal. I do think State Farm would get money because of this commercial. The reason is the people who made this commercial are really smart they made it so that this commercial could be for kids and adults. Kids could force their parents to buy State Farm and adults can force themselves.

This commercial uses emotional appeal by making the camel really funny. That makes everyone laugh that is watching it. Also the camel is really happy. When a camel is happy I am happy. This commercial also uses bandwagon by showing that geico is is used by a lot of people.

Also at the end when the hamsters come out of the car all the people are cheering like they are awesome. This add also uses trasfer appeal by showing the faces of they people when the hamsters come out of the car.






This commercial uses emotional appeal by making the people fight which is funny. This commercial also uses name calling by making fun of apple and samsung. The people who have Apple and Samsung fight and the people with the Nokia phone are calm and happy.




This commercial uses emotional appeal by making it funny that the kid keeps on talking and talking. This add also uses snob appeal by showing that AT&T is better than all companys. They say that AT&T is much faster than other companys.





This commercial uses emotional appeal by making the things the kids are saying really funny. This commercial also uses bandwagon by showing that AT&T is liked and used by many people. They also say AT&T is very big and is the most used company.





This commercial uses emotional appeal by making the kid funny because he is talking about how slow his grandma is. This commercial also uses snob appeal by showing that AT&T is much faster than most companys.






This commercial uses emmotional appeal by making everyone in it happy. That makes you want to buy the product so you can be happy. This commercial also uses snob appeal by saying that Iphone has the best facetime of all and no other phone has better quality.








This commercial uses emotional appeal by making the people happy and energetic. This makes you want to buy the product so you can be just like the people. This commercial also uses snob appeal by showing that if you have the ipod you can dance as well as the people in the video.




This commercial uses emotional appeal by making it funny and confusing at the same time. The guy is at one place then he transports to another place. This commercial also uses snob appeal by saying that if you are a man and you use old spice you will become amazing.




This commercial uses emotional appeal by making the dog so cute and by making the dad beable to plan where ever they want to go. This commercial also uses bandwagon by showing that many people use verison and that it is very cool.

Commercials can't always be trusted so be careful what you buy based on the commercials. Has there ever been a time when you really wanted to buy something based on a commercial you saw.
